THE recently launched Torbay Carers Forum has appointed its select panel of moderators to supervise their new website and make key decisions on its direction and content.
The moderators are Kevin Dixon, Michael Ecclestone, Val Christie, Janet Astle, Rose Coulton, Rob Gardner and David Young. Some of them were introduced to the content management area of the website at the offices of luketom.com, the developers of the Torbay Carers Forum.
Designed and moulded by carers for carers, the new website was a direct result of listening to the views and suggestions of carers to create a vehicle for communication, discussion, news and general information for the Torbay caring community.
The website has two access levels. Guests are welcome to browse most areas of the site including the home page, about us page, news, events, links and FAQs.
To view and contribute to the forum, live chat and voting pages, Torbay carers will need to register as a member and will then have direct access to other forum members via discussion groups and can chat with other members live online.
The core discussion topics and threads are administered by the moderators, all of whom are carers themselves or have been in the past. There are an agreed set of simple rules for those using the website.
Members of the forum have the ability to report comments or posts which are abusive, unfair or defamatory. The duty of the moderators will be to provide fair and impartial policing of the website and its content and attempt to resolve any problems during forum discussions.
Members are also invited to send in news, events and photographs that can be published on the 'events' page of the site.
All newsworthy and interesting content will be considered for publication and can be sent to the moderators at admin@torbaycarersforum.co.uk
